19thC Sycamore and Ash Coppicer’s stool

A fabulous little chopping stool that has been used for years. It's probably been used by a coppicer making besom brooms, or possibly by a thatcher making pegs.
It would be ideal now in a large fire place for chopping kindling. It is also suprisingly comfortable to sit on.

Now it is a beautiful folk art piece brimming with history, and its sycamore top is beautifully scarred over many years by (probably) a billhook. The three ash legs means it stands square, like a dairy stool, even on rough floors.
