This antique copper mould is a highly decorative piece. It dates from the 19thC and is made from a heavy gauge of copper. It bears all the signs of being by a quality maker, for example Benham & Froud or Temple & Crook (who do have a 'pattern13'), but this example is not marked for any maker. The layered design builds from the outside, and it would make an impressive plateful when turned out!
It is marked with the initials H.K.M. and the number 326, and on the opposite side the number '13', all impressed into the metal.
It is in a ring, so could have been not only for jelly, but perhaps for aspic or even for ice-cream. The internal tin has long worn away, so it would require re-tinning to be used now. It has the knocks and marks of use one might expect on a piece of around 150 or so years old. It is slightly out of perfect round, but displays really well.
