This vintage 1965 Rolling Stones programme is original concert memorabilia from their fifth British outing. To say they are world-famous is underpaying their role in rock history.
Decca were assigned the band's recording rights and they released the single The Last Time in February 1965. The single reached number 1 in March in the UK, and was to be No 1 at least six other countries.
On this tour the Stones had the support of special guests The Hollies in their break-through year, as well as Dave Berry and the Cruisers, Goldie and the Gingerbreads (notably one of the first all-female rock bands signed to a major label), The Checkmates, and The Konrads (famous as David Bowie's early band). The concert was compered by Jonny Ball.
The programme reflects the involvement of Decca in the Stones career including adverts for Decca recordings. The front cover has a striking image of the original line up of the band, including Brian Jones (1942-1969) and Charlie Watts (1941-2021) as well as Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Bill Wyman. On the back is a full page ad for Decca releases by The Stones. Internally there are other nostalgic adverts, and images and so on of the other bands, as well as an introduction by Andrew Loog Oldham, written very much in the 'literary' style of the time. You hip malchicks need to read it to see what I mean.
Condition: this original piece of vintage Rolling Stones concert memorabilia is in overall very good condition for a 60+ year old gig souvenir. The images show that there are some creases to the front (see close up image of the trousers), and minor edge wear and signs of gentle handling, although I would say this survivor is remarkably good. There is some minor rust spotting from the staples, but these have held. the internal pages which are all present and correct.
There is a very neat blue ink inscription of the date, 6th March 1965, confirming this was the second date in their tour when they presented two shows (6:15 and 8:30) on that Saturday at the Liverpool Empire. The gig was recorded and used in their Got Live If You Want It! EP released later that year, adding even more relevance to this particular programme - a survivor of an important gig.
Dealers Note: This isn't just a programme, it is a reminder of a night 61 years ago that caught The Stones right on the cusp of global superstardom.

Footnote: Eric Easton Presents. This was nearly the end of the Loog-Oldham/Easton partnership. Later that same year Oldham teamed up with Allen Klein and together they ousted Easton from the management partnership. This programme marks the point when The Stones transitioned from a local British touring band into the global phenomenon they became, and remain today
