This striking mid-century Hamilton sideboard, dating from 1960 and designed by British industrial designer Robert Heritage*, offers a blend of clean lines and functional design. It was manufactured by Archie Shine Ltd., a high-end manufacturer who sold via Harrods, Heals etc.
This fine example, following classic Danish style and on show in the shop, is made of teak and Honduran rosewood and the mixed textures add visual interest without overwhelming the space. It is fitted with four long drawers, the uppermost lined for cutlery, with reeded fronts and inset turned brass handles, and paired panel doors, behind which is a single shelf interior.

Measuring generously in length, it works equally well as a statement piece in a living or dining room, or as a media centre, or as a practical storage unit in an office or retail space.
It is raised on quintessential mid-century tapered legs, lifting the piece gracefully and giving it a light, airy presence without sacrificing stability and durability.

*Robert Heritage has won the most awards for design from the British Design Council. One of these is for the Hamilton Sideboard, in 1958.
