A well-crafted oak metamorphic chair that converts seamlessly into a practical set of library steps. This versatile late Victorian/Edwardian piece is solidly made from oak with mortice-and-tenon style joints, and a pleasing period patina. It has got a visible old split in the seat but this doesn't affect its ''performance': it's a good, strong, sturdy piece
It's a great decorative country-house piece that's ideal for traditional interiors, and so versatile in your home, whether in the library, kitchen, the study or any setting. It makes a great stand-by chair, as well as a strong step ladder ready to help when you need something from that high shelf, or a bulb needs changing
It's a classic item of antique furniture, and as well as being perfect for collectors seeking an oak metamorphic chair folding library steps, it is simply a really useful antique for everyday use
