This gorgeous 18ct gold, diamond and ruby ring has the added interest of a Chester hallmark. Chester closed their assay office in 1962 and so items bearing the wheatsheaves hallmark are increasingly hard to find. Here is a very good example of the Chester mark, clear and sharp, with the date letter M for 1922.
The ring is signed L.E.N. for notable Birmingham Goldmiths Lewis Edwin Neale who have given us this very fine 18 carat yellow gold gypsy style ring, with a pair of star mounted rubies either side of a mined old-cut diamond of around 0.15 carats (approx 3.4mm diameter).
The ruby represents fiery red passion while the diamond stands for eternal brilliance, so the combination is a declaration of timeless love, strength and unwavering commitment.
Condition of the ring is excellent throughout.
Size: It should be noted it is a small size at just below a J, say i½/i¾. So suited to slender fingers
