A very good 9ct gold framed double-sided glass locket. Illustrated here with two images cut from a magazine, but behind those are the original photos (hidden here for reasons of probity). Access is simple: the pendant loop at the top unscrews and the glass can be removed and new photos added once cut to size. The originals provide a good stencil.
The glass is chamfer cut and all original. The hallmarks are crisp and clear showing this piece was made by Alfred James How and assayed as 9ct gold in Birmingham during the first world war, in 1915.
The piece is in very good condition
These are great pieces of jewellery and look fabulous suspended from a chain as intended, or pinned to a lapel.
