Made by William Oakley Davis and hallmarked by Chester Assay Office in 1920, this is a really beautiful locket ready to include a photograph or other memento.
It is round, hinged and opens, then closes, with a satisfying click. The thing I especially admire is its bold simplicity. Nothing except the clear hallmarks, to one side only, mars its clean look. It has classic style and, considering it is more than 100 years old, a bold modern look too. It would hang beautifully from a chain, like the one illustrated here (but not included).
