Simeon Stafford (born 1956) is a British contemporary artist best known for his colourful, whimsical paintings of mainly figurative scenes that blend naivety with a touch of surrealism.
Born in Dukinfield, near Manchester, Stafford showed artistic promise from an early age and had his first exhibition at just 14.

Stafford’s work is often described as joyful, bustling, and  narrative-driven. He often features crowds of people, dogs, clowns, and seaside settings, all rendered in a colourful and exaggerated manner. Though rooted in the traditions of Lowry - whom he met and who encouraged him - Stafford’s work is notably more light-hearted and expressive.

He draws inspiration from both northern industrial life and Cornish coastal scenes, reflecting his life split between Manchester and St Ives, Cornwall
