A solid 1965 First UK Edition of John Lennon's second book of nonsensical prose, poetry, and surreal illustrations, effecting 1960s pop culture and filled with Lennon's line-drawings, poetry and literary absurdism. Published at the height of Beatlemania by Jonathan Cape, it features the iconic cover photography of Robert Freeman.

Published in its original glazed pictorial boards (the book was issued without a dust jacket), the exterior condition shows typical age wear/lifting to the original laminate in places on the back and near the spine fold, and some shelf wear to the spines and small corner bumps.
Inside, the text block and illustrations remain clean, tight, and well-preserved. The original price sticker remains on the first fly.
There are no inscriptions or added marks.

Size is approx 7" x 5"

This follow up publication to "In his own Write" is a fantastic piece of 1960s literary pop culture and a must-have for Beatles collectors and modern literature and surrealist enthusiasts alike. It was written while the Lennons (John and Cynthia) were on a (secret) yachting holiday in 1964, escaping the madness of Beatlemania, around Tahiti and the islands of French Polynesia with George Harrison and Pattie Boyd.
