A sweet antique silver bird, or chick, pin cushion. The marks are very worn, but the assay mark for Chester is clear, and I think it has a year mark for 1905, but the maker is illegible, although firms like Sampson Morden come to mind. It is a small piece: look at the last couple of images, but nonetheless it is finely detailed novelty sewing tool and very collectable. Crafted in sterling silver, this little chick design combines charm with functionality, making it a sought-after piece for collectors of antique sewing items, and Edwardian novelty silverware. An excellent addition to any collection, or a wonderful Christmas present for anyone who sews.
