Asprey London Walnut Eight Day Wall Clock

This very fine Walnut and Brass Art Deco period wall clock was made by H Lea & Sons for Asprey London.
Unsurprisingly therefore, it oozes quality, not just in looks in that fabulous walnut case, but in horology too. And that centres around the very good English movement, made by Lea who paired it with the best available escapement. At that time these were French. This was signature practice for luxury clock makers in the early 20thC, and you can see the text verifying this stamped on the back plate of the movement. 
The movement in this lovely clock is also stamped reference 1029, another clue to its Lea origins. 
And the final clue is the hand design with geometric ends, this was unique to clocks made by Lea for Asprey.

The movement was placed into this fine burr Walnut case, with added brass detailing, and Asprey displayed it for sale in their London showroom.
