A fine example of French clock making, this carriage clock from c 1875/1880 is by the renowned firm Richard & Cie of Paris.
There is much more about this interesting company on the internet, but essentially they were established in Paris in 1848 and in 1857 started selling their french-made timepieces in London. By 1867 they had opened a shop, Richard & Co, in Cannon St, London, selling 'French clocks of the highest quality'. The shop closed in 1881.
This clock is a very good example of their work. A good size, solid carriage clock in very good order. It runs beautifully, keeping excellent time, and the advance/retard arm is nice and central on the tidy movement. Complete with key.
The price shown here does include Free UK Delivery (mainland). This will be by a parcel or postage style carrier. And while it will be very thoroughly wrapped, I can not take any responsibility for any damage caused during postage. Therefore I would much rather collection from the shop. However, i will post it if required: UK Mainland only.
I regret that i won't post this clock abroad. Overseas buyers are welcome to arrange their own collection from TA22 9HJ
