KING CRIMSON  - In The Court Of The Crimson King
(ILPS9111: October 10th, 1969 UK first press on the pink Island label)

This Island pressing is reputed to be the highest fidelity of the early releases and reviews often mention the high quality of the sound and EQ
This album holds a very important place in the history of rock and is becoming increasingly collectable and prices can reach deep into four figures.
This is a very useable and collectable copy at a very attractive price.

Description and condition:
Labels with white 'i' logo, and the iconic matt gatefold picture sleeve with lyrics inside.
The sleeve is Good, with some losses on the front right corner and on the inside left where it looks like tape as been removed - see images. It is now stored in a clear plastic outer sleeve for added protection.
The 12" (30.48 cms) Vinyl itself I grade much higher at VG++. The run-outs are checked and correct and the record has been cleaned with specialist materials and is now within a premium audiophile grade liner to further protect the vinyl.

Even the names of the tracks are iconic to rock fans:
1. 21st Century Schizoid Man
2. I Talk To The Wind
3. Epitaph
4. Moonchild
5. The Court Of The Crimson King

The album was recorded in Wessex studios in London, and the famous artwork was created by Barry Godber (a self portrait), a friend of lyricist Pete Sinfield. Sadly Barry died in the year following release.
Musicians appearing on the album are:
Robert Fripp, Ian McDonald, Greg Lake and Michael Giles.
